Common questions

Getting started

What is Artisans Almanac?

Artisans Almanac is a tracker for craft-show and market vendors. It keeps every show you're interested in — deadlines, event dates, booth fees, and where each application stands — organized for the whole season, helps you discover new shows near you, and shows you what each show actually earns. Use it on your own or as a shared team, synced across your phone and your browser.

How do I add a show?

From My Shows, tap “Add a show” and enter the basics — name, website, dates, application deadline, and booth fee — then save. You can fill in the address, tags, status, sales, expenses, and notes anytime by editing the show.

Can I move my shows over from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Go to Import, then upload or paste a CSV. Common columns like name, location, deadline, and fee are recognized automatically; for any other layout you map the columns and preview the result before importing. Shows you already track are matched by name, so new years are added and duplicates are skipped.

Can I install it like an app?

Yes. Artisans Almanac is a progressive web app — open it in your phone's browser and choose “Add to Home Screen” to install it. It opens full-screen like a native app, and screens you've already visited can still load if you briefly lose your connection.

Tracking your season

How does tracking an application work?

Each show moves through stages — interested, applied, waitlisted, accepted, paid, and attended (plus rejected or declined if it doesn't work out) — so you always know where things stand. The dashboard groups your shows by stage and surfaces what needs action today, like a deadline coming up or a booth fee that's due.

Can I see how much each show makes?

Yes. Enter a show's booth fee, your sales, and any expenses (including mileage), and Artisans Almanac shows your take-home and profit per show — plus your totals across the season. It's the easiest way to see which shows are worth doing again.

Can I export my numbers for taxes?

Yes. The tax export gives you a tax-year CSV of booth fees, other expenses, and a mileage figure you can open in any spreadsheet. It's a data export to make filing easier — not tax advice.

Reminders & calendar

How do reminders work?

Artisans Almanac emails you before each application deadline at the lead times you choose in Settings (for example 14, 7, and 1 days before). Reminders fire while a show is still in an actionable stage. You can also add any application's dates to your own calendar with the .ics download.

Does Artisans Almanac have a calendar?

Yes. The Calendar page shows your application deadlines, payment due dates, and event dates as a list or a month grid. Multi-day events span all their days, and you can add an early arrival/setup day that extends the block.

Does it follow up after a show?

Yes. A couple of days after a show ends, Artisans Almanac sends a one-time nudge to jot down private notes and a quick thumbs up/down while it's still fresh — so next season you'll remember which shows were worth it.

Discover

What is Discover?

Discover is a verified directory of craft shows and markets you can browse by distance from your home location. Save any show to your own tracker in one tap, and apply on the organizer's official site. Listings come from organizers who submit their events and from the public, factual details of shows that members add to their own trackers (see “Where do Discover listings come from?” below). Listings can change, so always double-check the dates and fees on the official site before applying.

Where do Discover listings come from?

Two places: organizers who list their own events, and a narrow set of factual details from shows that members track — a show's name, location, dates, and links. These are objective event details, not anyone's private information: your identity, your application status, the application deadline and any booth or application fees, what you paid, your sales and expenses, and your notes are never part of Discover. (Any deadlines or fees shown on Discover come from organizers and other public sources, not from members' trackers.) Sharing these facts helps keep nearby listings fresh and accurate for everyone.

Who can use Discover?

Browsing the full directory is part of a paid subscription. During your free trial you'll see how many shows are near you as a preview; the full, detailed listings unlock once you're subscribed.

How do recurring markets work?

A market that repeats (like a weekly farmers market with a season) is labeled with its pattern, such as “Every Saturday.” When you save one, Artisans Almanac asks which specific date(s) you're attending, and you can add more later — each shows separately on your calendar.

How do I avoid show scams?

Discover links to our “How to spot a scam” guide, and event pages remind you to confirm the deadline and fee on the organizer's official site before you pay. The guide walks through the red flags — pay-first schemes, lookalike websites, irreversible payment methods, and pressure tactics — and what to do if you've been targeted.

Your team

Can I share my account with a partner or helper?

Yes. From Settings, the workspace admin can invite teammates by email. Everyone on the team shares the same shows, applications, and calendar, so a partner or helper can keep things up to date with you. The admin manages who's on the team.

Billing

How much does Artisans Almanac cost?

Artisans Almanac is a paid subscription with a free trial. You can choose a monthly or an annual plan — the annual plan works out cheaper per month. The current prices and trial length are shown on the Billing page when you sign up.

How does the free trial work?

New accounts start with a free trial so you can try everything before paying. Depending on the current setup you may be asked for a card up front; if so, you are not charged during the trial, and your plan starts automatically when it ends unless you cancel first.

How do I cancel, and do you give refunds?

You can cancel anytime from the Billing page; your access continues through the end of the period you already paid for. Fees are non-refundable once charged, so cancel before your next renewal if you don't want to be billed again.

What happens if my trial or subscription ends?

You won't lose your data. Your account moves to a limited view where you can still see your dashboard and calendar, and you can always export your shows. To add or edit shows and use Discover again, just resubscribe from the Billing page.

Account

How do I sign in or reset my password?

Sign in with your email and password. If you forgot your password, use the “Forgot password?” link on the sign-in page to get a reset email. Where it's offered, you can also continue with Google.

Can I get my data out?

Yes — your data is always yours. From your account you can export your shows and applications as a CSV, openable in Excel or Google Sheets, regardless of your subscription status.

Is there an “application kit” I can reuse?

Yes. In your profile you can store the things juries ask for — artist bio, statement, materials/medium, and price range — once, then reuse them across applications. This is private to you and never shared.

Privacy

Is my information private?

Yes. The personal side of your tracker — your application statuses, the deadlines and booth or application fees you track, payments, sales, expenses, notes, attachments, and personal details — is private to you (and anyone you invite to your team), and never appears in Discover. The one thing that can be shared is a narrow set of factual details of a show you add — its name, location, dates, and links — which help build the Discover directory other vendors browse. See our Terms and Privacy Policy for the full picture.

Do my shows feed the Discover directory?

Only a narrow set of public facts. When you add a show, its objective details (name, location, dates, and links) help keep Discover's nearby listings accurate for everyone — the same kind of information an organizer would publish anyway. Your private application data — application status, the deadline and fees you track, payments, sales, expenses, notes, and your identity — never leaves your own account.

Organizers

I run a market or show — how do I get it listed?

Use “List your market or show” to create a free organizer account and submit your event — no payment and no trial. You provide the public details (name, location, dates, deadline, fee, and whether it repeats), and once reviewed it appears in Discover so vendors can find it.

Help

Can I get help inside the app?

Yes. The Help & Support page has an assistant that answers common product questions, a full FAQ, and a form to message us directly — no account needed. You can also replay the welcome tour anytime from the Help page.
